One thing about living in Langata-Karen in Nairobi is having a huge garden. I am able to go birding from the comfort of the deck. But one of the other pleasant surprises here are the numerous chameleons. These are Jackson's chameleons.

When I was a little girl, the only big cats I saw where at the Manila Zoo. Of course, at age 8, I was excited to see the lions in their own huge enclosures complete with a wading pond. As I grew older, I felt sorry for these magnificent cats who must have felt being imprisoned in seclusion perpetua...
So it was really a different experience to see these cats in a natural environment.... at the Masai Mara in Kenya, East Africa. :D
